Recycling used objects and things that would not have any more use is one of the common practices to which most people would use to convert them into cash or goods for donation to charity institutions. To most people, the value of junk and other trashed items would not have the same tag as it did before. Some would not even care on their use, content with just placing them in trash bags to help maintain their clean surroundings.

One man�s trash may be the benefit of another. This is something that best describes recycling used goods and converting them into something beneficial. There are still monetary values for such and people would be surprised at how much they could raise from such efforts. There are people who spend special events such as Valentines by sharing to the less fortunate. The immediate thinking of most people is that their partners deserve the due attention. But the truth of the matter is that Valentines can also be celebrated with their parents or people who have no one else to turn to.

For people who happen to live in the shabby places such as dumps and lesser presentable places of the world, sharing something in the form of clothes, goods or throwing a small pot luck type of party for them more than fattens the human heart.

Yorkville Common Pantry

It is exactly what its name implies – a charity organization that helps thousands of families with one of the most basic needs in New York City. It does however go beyond just food. This charity is about helping people promoting dignity and self sufficiency aside from reducing hunger.

Yorkville Common Pantry or YCP began as a small neighborhood soup kitchen. They began serving 3,000 families. Now they assist over 30,000 families with food, education in nutrition, hygiene and other services for the homeless.

YCP needs donations. There are many people who can barely eat in the city. Some must forfeit buying food in order to avoid losing their home. Some are stretching their food to last a month instead of a day or two. Every little bit helps.

If you are looking for a worthy cause, this is a good one. You never know when you yourself may need a hand up, so do help where you can.

Rare Animals Will Become Rare Species Soon

The common way for people to see wild life animals is usually towards the television set or photo images that we see everyday. Another is perhaps going to the nearby zoo where a person may catch a short glimpse of the animal roster that they have to offer. But in most cases, there are still a lot of rare animals to be seen in the world today and that the only people who may see them are actually the ones responsible for their possible non-existence in the near future, the hunters.

Crocodiles

Crocodiles, birds, monkeys, bears and other mammals that are known to live on earth may not be seen by most people and some have already been declared extinct due to the deprivation of their right to procreate and wander off into the wilderness where hunters seek their prey.

There are preservations and foundations that exert their efforts to save them from extinction, no matter how dangerous they are. However, everyone must do his part in it. Without the extra effort, they are good as memories of our fictitious past.

Paying It Forward

Remember the tear-jerking film of Kevin Spacey in 2000 called �Pay it Forward�? Based on the diagram you see above, it shows a simple way of giving which is starting to catch on not just on the silver screen, but in real life today. Just this week, some astonishing �waves of kindness� were reported in Seattle, Washington, where it seemed to have started in a Starbucks caf� (of all places) as Bob Halsam�s nonfat raspberry latte was randomly paid for by the lady ahead of him in the queue. Similarly, Mary Ann Johnson�s meal at Salmon Bay was also paid for by a stranger. Both the waitress at the restaurant and barista at Starbucks said the parties who did the random acts of kindness called it just that � and not surprisingly, it touched them as well.

In today�s world where so many dealings with others are based on a sort of trade-off, anonymous good deeds offer another kind of higher gratification � one that is based on the premise of expecting nothing of all. Wonderful and thrilling to both the giver and receiver, even third parties (like the waitress and barista) get the benefits.

After her surprise act of kindness at the restaurant, Johnson told all her friends, and �paid it forward� herself, starting off by buying breakfast for a street vendor in her neighborhood. And since then, she�s heard that its been happening all over town. In fact, there are now websites and RAK (Random Acts of Kindness) clubs in many communities all over the world. So here’s just one more way to give. As the diarist Anne Frank once said ” “How wonderful it is that nobody need wait a single minute before starting to improve the world.”

Monuments and Places of Historical Nature

We all hear about set events and charitable causes nowadays and main beneficiaries are usually that of people and places that needs rehabilitation or aids. In both cases, the prior one would garner the most attention since nothing beats the needs to provide help towards human life and comrades.

Historical Places

Places that have become dilapidated and abandoned get their share of causes as well, especially the ones that hold history of events. Such places would become preserved locations, holding memories and would eventually become tourist spots so that tourists and visitors may appreciate the story of the place in most cases.

People may think that such places can easily be replaced and renovated by new and well-improved infrastructure. However, maintaining and taking heed of what events occurred in the past of these places are what made most countries today and hence preservations in tow. While these projects may not solicit the usual attention that people in need would require, they also get their share of needs for help, mostly by people who know their history and why they should be preserved.

Choosing Right Beneficiaries in Need

Charitable organizations would always identify what particular area of interest they would consider to help out. With so much people in need today, it has gone as far as helping out places, worthy causes, schools and hospitals. But in a nutshell, all of them pertain to one worthy beneficiary that is of the human being.

It is not the sole fault of some parties for being on the hard end of living. It is by fate and not by choice that most people find themselves needing to seek help from the lucky beings in this world and in some cases, a helping hand coming from people who get fulfillment out of it.

The problem with the world today may perhaps be the proper identification of the groups in need. Some would focus on certain groups in need of food and shelter, but if explored a lot further, such efforts should be dissected a bit more since one area alone is not enough to cover.

Building Homes

There are many charity organizations all over the world. They sponsor many causes. They need the help of many people in order to make a difference. Yet many are turned off by the mere thought of charity. Most believe it means giving a handout. Others see it as a waste of time since problems never go away whether it is poverty or disease. Most of the general public feel, there is no point in taking part since they themselves would never take “charity” from anyone.

Yet no one can predict the changes that life brings. An unexpected fire in the neighborhood that raged out of control can mean the loss of your home. A tsunami like that which hit Asia or hurricane Katrina can change lives from well of to homeless and with nothing.

Charity is about helping out as best you can. It isn’t always about money, though we all know that helps. It is about someone throwing a life saver to a stranger simply because we know they need help.

Habitat for Humanity is a popular choice of a lot of people. This organization works to create homes for people who need a hand up, not a hand out. In fact, the new home owners also contribute to the building of their home which is the best groups to help. People can participate a couple of ways. First, donate money. Any amount you wish to give is welcome. Second, and this is the more popular choice, contribute your strength, skill and your time. This for some is a bigger contribution than just cash. It means hours lifting and pouring, hammering, painting or any other carpentry skill that most of us do not usually do.

The end result: a home for a family that needs one created by strangers that they are unlikely to meet. There many people out there who need homes. It feels really good to actually be able to see where your assistance makes a difference, doesn’t it?
