People have been known to do stupid things especially when they are so desperate they will do anything for money. Money is the root of all evil for most and that is what motivates scam artists and other criminals to engage in their activities that seem too low even for known crooks. Scammers out for money aimed to help victims of natural disasters such as the ones that happened recently in Myanmar and China. But even without human tragedy, these crooks are after the money of others who are generous enough to give burning them from giving to the needy and straight into their pockets as they go from person to person out to get a buck at the expense of others.
The events in Myanmar have caused much grief for the people of Myanmar, nothing is left but to do what they can with what they have (which is often none). In a way, that is nice for they can do without much and aid sometimes causes them to resort to leeching techniques but for people who are as poor as that of the poor Asian nation, that may be too much. Imagine a person who has never even tasted bread in his life, now that’s a tragedy.
Some people especially over the internet have preyed upon the many generous folks around the world who offered cash to support them yet many still ended up in the hands of crooks. Developed countries can deal with such crimes but in the developing world where there are more urgent needs, it seems almost impossible to donate safely and have the cash end up in the hands of those who need it.
We thank the millions of people who answer the call for help to the many charities and continue by saying that they are the true epitome of human compassion. More power to you people and may GOD bless your souls.
